The first annual Jersey City Mural Festival arrives this weekend at the new Harborside Campus near the city’s Hudson River waterfront. The weekend-long festival will take place June 5-6 and will activate more than 30 walls across Jersey City.
Full demolition permits have been filed for 1305-1307 Third Avenue and 202 East 75th Street on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Located at the southeast corner of Third Avenue and East 75th Street, the 8,178-square-foot site has 101 feet of street frontage.
AvalonBay Communities has partnered with Atria Senior Living and Welltower to complete a $300 million mixed-use community in New Jersey’s West Windsor Township. The community is taking shape near the Princeton Junction Amtrak train station and will comprise mixed-income, age-restricted, and market-rate housing in addition to retail, a public promenade, and a mix of enclosed and surface-level parking.
Construction is now complete on Lantern House, a pair of residential buildings straddling the High Line at 515 West 18th Street in Chelsea. Designed by Thomas Heatherwick with SLCE Architects as the architect of record and developed by Related Companies, the 10- and 22-story structures yield a total of 181 residential units with sales and marketing led by Related Sales LLC and Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group. Lantern House is bound by Tenth Avenue the east, West 18th Street to the south, West 19th Street to the north, and Frank Gehry’s IAC Building immediately to the west.
The Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) recently reviewed proposals to install new awnings and signage at Balthazar Restaurant in Soho. Located at 80 Spring Street, the restaurant occupies the ground floor of the building that was originally constructed in 1903. Today, the restaurant is one of the most popular destinations in the neighborhood.
