Construction, expansion and renovation work continues at 44-54 Ninth Avenue, an eight-story office and retail complex on the border of Chelsea, the Meatpacking District, and the West Village. Designed by BKSK Architects for Tavros Capital, the mixed-use project consists of the restoration of a row of a low-rise landmarked townhomes lining the streets and the construction of a new office volume set back from the sidewalks. Broadway Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is alternately addressed as 351-355 West 14th Street and located at the intersection of West 14th Street and Ninth Avenue.

43-14 Queens Street Rises Above Street Level In Long Island City, Queens

Construction is in full swing at 43-14 Queens Street, the site of a 19-story residential building in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Rockrose Development, the 229-foot-tall mixed-use structure will yield 193,725 square feet with 301 rental apartments, residential amenities on the 18th floor, a cellar level, and approximately 4,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. 27-34 Jackson GC, LLC is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Queens Street and Jackson Avenue.

City Planning Commission Approves 970-Unit Affordable Housing Complex at 1460-1480 Sheridan Boulevard in The Bronx

The New York City Planning Commission has approved plans to construct a 970-unit affordable housing complex along the Bronx River waterfront. Located in the Crotona Park East neighborhood, the development is currently addressed as 1460-1480 Sheridan Boulevard and will include three 24-story buildings.

Renovation and Expansion Work Progresses on 125 Barclay Street in Tribeca, Manhattan

Expansion and and renovation work is progressing on 125 Barclay Street, an 11-story commercial building in Tribeca. Originally constructed in 1932 as the World Telegram Building, the 280,000-square-foot structure is undergoing an overhaul that involves the replacement of its brick envelope with a modern glass curtain wall, the full gutting of the interiors and restoration of the terracotta flooring, and the construction of an 11th story above the current parapet.

A mixed-use development at 335 Fifth Avenue in Chelsea, Manhattan has officially broken ground. Located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 3rd Avenue, the project is the latest development from MAG Partners and global holding company Safanad, who’ve retained COOKFOX Architects to design the property and Urban Atelier Group as general contractor.
