The affordable housing lottery has launched for 776 Franklin Avenue, a six-story mixed-use building in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. The 14,010-square-foot development is designed by Anthony Desimone Architect and yields ten units. Available on NYC Housing Connect are three units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income, ranging in eligible income from $85,715 to $159,640.
Construction has topped out on the three-story expansion of Tiffany & Co.’s flagship store at 727 Fifth Avenue in Midtown. Designed by OMA partners Shohei Shigematsu and Jake Forster, the project also involves a full interior overhaul of the 71-year-old structure, which is located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and East 57th Street. When complete, the building will stand ten stories tall.
Development plans and preliminary renderings are now public for a 23-story commercial tower at 500 Kent Avenue on the South Williamsburg waterfront in Brooklyn, following submission to the Department of City Planning.
Four buildings under new ownership of The East Harlem El Barrio Community Land Trust (CLT) are currently undergoing construction to transform them into affordable apartments. Located at 53 East 110th Street, 201 East 120th Street, 204 West 121st Street, and 304 East 126th Street in Harlem, the project will yield 36 rental apartments and three commercial spaces. CLT will own the land and lead the renovation project, and is joined by Mutual Housing Association and the city’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) in this $13.2 million deal.
Permits have been filed for a 33-story mixed-use building at 12 East 37th Street in Midtown, Manhattan. Located between Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue, the interior lot is five blocks south of the Bryant Park subway station, serviced by the B, D, F, M, and 7 trains. Yusuf Bildirici of B&F Management, under the 12-14 E37th Street Development Corp., is listed as the owner behind the applications.
