Margaritaville Resort Nears Completion at 560 Seventh Avenue in Times Square, Manhattan

Façade installation is nearing completion on the Margaritaville Resort New York at 560 Seventh Avenue in Times Square. Designed by Stonehill Taylor and developed by Sharif El-Gamal of Soho Properties along with MHP Real Estate Services, the 29-story, 375-foot-tall tower will yield 234 guest rooms with island-inspired interior designs. The project, which is located at the corner of Seventh Avenue and West 40th Street, is expected to cost around $300 million.

Jersey City Planning Board Approves 26-Story Mixed-Use Tower at 425 Summit Avenue

A new 26-story tower in Journal Square could soon begin construction following approvals from the Jersey City Planning Board. The tower will occupy a large T-shaped parcel of land at 415-435 Summit Avenue. The project will eventually debut as 425 Summit Avenue.

Permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use building at 1763 Coney Island Avenue in Midwood, Brooklyn. Located between Avenue N and Avenue O, the interior lot is five blocks west of the Avenue M subway station, serviced by the Q train. Eddie Yair under 1775 Coney Island LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Trader Joe’s Reveals New Store at 121 West 125th Street in Harlem, Manhattan

Trader Joe’s will soon open a new grocery store in Harlem, the chain’s first location in Upper Manhattan. The store will occupy 28,000 square feet of ground-floor space of the forthcoming Urban League Empowerment Center at 121 West 125th Street.

Permits Filed for Two-Tower Development at 484 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Permits have been filed for two mixed-use towers along Brooklyn’s Williamsburg waterfront at 484 Kent Avenue, addressed as 480 and 490 Kent Avenue. Located between South 10th Street and Division Street, the lot is steps from the South Williamsburg stop on the East River Ferry. The Marcy Avenue subway station is a 13-minute walk east of the property, serviced by the J, M, and Z trains. Naftali Group is listed as the owner behind the applications.

One Essex Crossing Launches Sales On The Lower East Side of Manhattan

Today, One Essex Crossing is officially launching sales, and YIMBY has an exclusive reveal of a slew of renderings for the project, for which occupancy is anticipated later this year. Located on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, the 14-story full-block development is designed by CetraRuddy and developed by Delancey Street Associates, which is comprised of BFC Partners, L+M Development Partners, Taconic Partners, the Prusik Group, and Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group. The site is bounded by Delancey Street to the north, Suffolk Street to the east, Broome Street to the south, and Norfolk Street to the west, and is one of several addresses in the Essex Crossing master plan that’s spread across six acres and a total of nine buildings. Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group is handling sales for One Essex Crossing with prices ranging from $890,000 for a studio, to $6,689,000 for a duplex penthouse.

The affordable housing lottery is now open for CLOTH Amsterdam, a collection of 16 renovated rental units across four buildings including 2110 and 2185 Amsterdam Avenue, 2488 7th Avenue, and 2794 8th Avenue in Manhattan’s Washington Heights neighborhood. Available on NYC Housing Connect are a mix of studios, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units for residents at 50 to 60 percent of the area median income, ranging in eligible income from $26,023 to $84,600.

Kushner Companies’ Two-Towered One Journal Square Approved, in Jersey City

Following years of dispute and litigation, the Jersey City Planning Board has officially granted Kushner Companies necessary approvals to begin construction on One Journal Square, a two-skyscraper complex in downtown Jersey City. Designed by Woods Bagot, the buildings will comprise 2 million square feet and stand 710 feet tall.

Demolition Continues for TSX Broadway at 1568 Broadway in Times Square, Manhattan

Demolition work is continuing at 1568 Broadway in Times Square, where the 46-story, 470-foot-tall building now stands less than 20 stories high. Designed by PBDW Architects, Mancini Duffy, and Perkins Eastman and developed by L&L Holding Company, Maefield Development, and Fortress Investment Group, the project involves the partial demolition of the former DoubleTree Suites by Hilton and construction of a new 46-story, 550,000-square-foot hotel tower dubbed TSX Broadway, on its foundations. This also includes the preservation of the 108-year-old Palace Theater, which will be raised 30 feet to make room for ground-floor retail space. The site is located at the corner of Seventh Avenue and West 47th Street, directly across from the TKTS stairs.

Updated Rendering Revealed for 1010 Pacific Street in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn

Updated renderings from J. Frankl Associates and Studio C Architecture reveal new plans for a nine-story residential building in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. From developer Naresh Mahangu of NY Building Associates Inc., the property will take shape at 1010 Pacific Street on a large interior lot between Grand and Classon Avenues.
