Affordable Housing Lottery Launches Sea Breeze Tower in Coney Island, Brooklyn

The housing lottery is now open for Sea Breeze Tower, a 20-story residential development at 271 Sea Breeze Avenue in Coney Island, Brooklyn. Developed by Rybak Development and designed by Zproekt, the building yields a total 114 rentals in a mix of studios, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. Available on NYC Housing Connect are the 34 apartments at 130 percent of the area median income, ranging from $58,286 to $183,300.

YIMBY went to take a look at 250 Water Street, the site of Howard Hughes‘ planned supertall in the South Street Seaport District. Early renderings from Skidmore Owings & Merrill show the mixed-use skyscraper rising nearly 1,052 feet tall. However, it may be a few years before any progress begins on the Financial District project, which would become the tallest residential building below Canal Street.

The Landmarks Preservation Commission is now considering proposals to renovate the façade of a 19th century townhouse in the Central Park West Historic District of the Upper West Side. The property is located at 55 West 86th Street between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue, and was originally constructed in 1889.

Trinity Commons on Track for 2021 Opening at 74 Trinity Place in the Financial District

Construction appears substantially complete on Trinity Commons, a 26-story mixed-use tower planned to open next year at 74 Trinity Place in the Financial District. Alternately addressed as 107 Greenwich Street, the 424-foot-tall building is designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects and developed by Trinity Real Estate, with Stephen B. Jacobs Group as the executive architect.

New renderings have been unveiled for The West, a new residential development at 547 West 47th Street in Hell’s Kitchen. Designed by Concrete and developed by CB Developers, SK Development and Ironstate Development, the block-long development will rise 12 stories and yield 219 units, ranging from studios to three-bedrooms, all above a 40,000-square-foot ground-floor car dealership. Developers Seek $860M Finance Package to Renovate 111 Wall Street in Manhattan

Nightingale Properties and Wafra Capital Partners recently launched a campaign to draw in $860 million in construction financing to redevelop an existing office building in Manhattan’s Financial District. Located at 111 Wall Street, it is estimated that redevelopment costs will max out at $1 billion.

Demolition Continues on 1 Park Row in the Financial District

Demolition work is ramping up at 1 Park Row in the Financial District, where a mixed-use building is planned to rise. Little information has been disclosed on the scope of the new project, which is designed by Fogarty Finger Architects and developed by Guardian Realty Management, since plans and renderings were released in December 2017. According to the depiction, the development could stand at least nine stories high.

LPC Reviews Proposals for Office Building at 72 Grand Street in Soho

The Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) is currently reviewing proposals to construct a five-story office building at 72 Grand Street in the Soho Cast Iron Historic District of Manhattan. The site currently sits vacant with frontage along both Grand and Wooster Streets. If approved, the new building will top out at nearly 88 feet including all required mechanicals.
