Yes. I remember one time her male counterpart ranted that he knew people who ran up to him screaming they "loved" abortion. I burst out laughing, which he did not appreciate.

Those two were always fun to respond to (while continuing walking!).

It seems something is going on here on 42nd street - a new retail bldg perhaps?

Yes. Photos of it were published in the Post earlier this year. It's four or five story glass box.

The hotel which will rise between the Bush Tower and the Knickerbocker also appears to be u/c. Poon is the architect so. It will suck. See below.

    Thumbs down

THAT ^ really aggravates me. The Knickerbocker building is Landmarked, so there is no way that something will rise on that plot to any height that would obscure whatever is planned to rise at 140 W 42nd. A good developer & architect would take advantage of that situation. Instead we get a huge expanse of nothing rising tall (except an opportunity for signage).

This new one should step back along that west facade (and along the east facade above the Bush Tower). The overall FAR not used to create that stupid flatness could have allowed this to go taller. Windows facing west could have risen gracefully above both the Knickerbocker and Bush.

Every damned new hotel going up at mid-block in NYC has the same banal form. They all have a clumsy shape and don't relate well to the older neighbors.

    Hiss. Boo.

I'd like have Dick Cheney personally chaperone Highgate and Poon to Guantanomo.

Is the site of the Bush Tower Addition active with construction equipment yet?

KPF's design for a new office tower in London was just released. London's new highrises all have great style and high-quality materials, whereas our flea bag city, by contrast, is in an architectural race to the bottom. Developers vie to construct the crappiest building possible.

We should aim to be like London.

Here we go again... honestly it doesn't seem to me that this skyscraper is a masterpiece... also, NYC is in an architectural race to the bottom? What a complete exaggeration...

Are you crabby due to P.M.S. or due to the fact that since you finished Fifty Shades of Gray, you have nothing to do on your layovers in Akron? (At least nothing that doesn't require batteries.)

why are you always insulting people and putting them down when they disagree with you?

If you cant handle someone stating their opinion without resorting to personal attacks, then maybe a forum isn't the right place for you.

sure the new building design sucks but that doesn't give you the right or obligation to turn into a raving lunatic (act your age).

Also your disparaging comment towards women is unacceptable.
