Located in the Brooklyn Academy of Music Historic District, the new three-story structure will rise from a long vacant lot on the corner of Hanson Place and St. Felix Street.
A new look is out for the proposed three-story building at 147 Saint Felix Street in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. The site is located just two blocks away from the Atlantic Barclays Center intersection. JRA Design Group is responsible for the design.
On Tuesday, the Landmarks Preservation Commission approved construction of a new two-unit house at the corner of St. Felix Street and Hanson Place in the Brooklyn Academy of Music Historic District. The new construction at 147 St. Felix Street, a lot vacant since 1999, will rise three stories and will hopefully fare better than the site’s two previous occupants.
Property owner Alireza Esmaeilzadeh has filed applications for a three-story, two-unit townhouse at 147 Saint Felix Street, in southern Fort Greene, located across the street from Atlantic Terminal and 11 different subway lines. The building will measure 3,364 square feet in total, with one unit occupying the first floor and a second taking up the second and third floors. Think Architecture and Design is the architect of record, and the site’s old three story building was demolished in 1999.
