53-Story Mixed-Use Tower At 333 Schermerhorn Street Now Rising, Downtown Brooklyn

In January, the foundation was being poured at 333 Schermerhorn Street, the site of Steiner Studios’ 53-story, 581-unit mixed-use tower in Downtown Brooklyn; Brownstoner has the latest update, and it appears the tower portion is now rising and is already a few floors above the base podium. Dattner Architects and Goldstein Hill & West Architects are designing, and completion is expected in 2017.

Renderings Revealed For 19-Unit Rental Project At 265 Van Brunt Street, Red Hook

YIMBY brought you news of applications filed for a three-story, 19-unit residential building at 265 Van Brunt Street, in Red Hook, in March of 2014, and now Brownstoner has spotted the first renderings posted on site. Designed by OCV Architects, the building will actually be raised due to flooding concerns, and will appear as a four-story structure. The rental project is being developed by Cheever Development, and the site’s single-story predecessors have been demolished.

Williamsburg Waterfront Property at 484 Kent Avenue To Be Marketed As Development Site

On the southern end of Williamsburg’s waterfront, a three-story commercial property at 484 Kent Avenue is about to hit the market as a development site, boasting 500,000 square feet of residential air rights. In 2011, the property was granted a zoning change to allow for three towers totaling 800 residential units, 30% of which would be affordable. Per Crain’s Business, HFZ Capital Group is interested in the property; the site is suspected to be valued north of $250 million.

Originally filed in June of 2014, property owner Muhammad Alam has filed additional applications for a six-story, 10-unit mixed-use building at 150-16 Hillside Avenue, in Jamaica. The building will measure a total 10,170 square feet, and 2,360 square-foot of retail space will take up the ground floor. Angelo Ng + Anthony Ng Architects Studio is designing, and an existing two-story structure must first be demolished.
