Construction Continues on 180 and 202 Broome Street at Essex Crossing on the Lower East Side

YIMBY checked in on the progress of two properties under construction at Essex Crossing: 180 Broome Street designed by Handel Architects, and 202 Broome Street designed by CetraRuddy Architecture. One of the largest developments to come to the Lower East Side, Essex Crossing is a mixed-use project composed of nine different buildings as part of a $1 billion master plan to bring new affordable housing, retail, dining, entertainment, and communal facilities to the neighborhood.

Delancey Street Associates Commissions 10,600-Square-Foot Mural at Essex Crossing on the Lower East Side

One of the city’s largest-ever public murals will soon adorn The Rollins, one of nine buildings at the Essex Crossing mega-project on the Lower East Side. Brooklyn art duo ASVP was commissioned for the project following a borough-wide call for submissions from Delancey Street Associates, the development team responsible for Essex Crossing.

Permits Filed for 161 Broome Street on the Lower East Side, Manhattan

Permits have been filed for a 15-story residential building at 161 Broome Street on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Located between Clinton Street and Attorney Street, the lot is four blocks east of the Delancey Street-Essex Street subway station, serviced by the F, M, J, and Z trains. Grand Street Guild Housing Development is listed as the owner behind the applications.
