A furniture warehouse in the Bronx is about to be replaced by three new five-story apartment buildings. Permits have been filed for 578 and 580 East 138th Street with identical specifications, and the site’s developer has told YIMBY that another building is also in the works at 582 East 138th Street. Shalev Shoshani of 138 S&H Realty Corp is developing the project, which will bring 24 apartments to Mott Haven. All three structures will stand 56 feet tall, with a total combined area of 22,500 square feet. That space is divided between 6,300 square feet of commercial retail on the first floor, and 16,400 square feet of residential space on floors two through five. OMF Architect PC is responsible for the design, and demolition permits were filed at the end of August.

Colorless or colorful or the details. (I take it all – Hello to you YIMBY)
what does this mean?
The BRONX is the last place in the 5 boros where relatively cheap land zoned for apartment construction can be found. (Cheapest land on is really found SI but apartment buildings are forbidden by zoning laws on SI).
