Permits have been filed for a three-story, 85-key hotel at 5244 Kings Highway, in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. The site is a nine-minute bicycle ride from the Flatbush Avenue subway station, end of the line for the 2 and 5 trains, and center of a major commercial intersection. Brooklyn College’s campus is just across from the station. Amritpal Sandhu is listed as behind the applications.
The 38-foot tall structure will yield 28,980 square feet, with 19,330 square feet dedicated to commercial use. 85 guest rooms will be created, averaging 227 square feet apiece. Guests will have access to a fitness center, laundry room, and dining area. 11 parking spaces will be included.
M.S. Savani Architect will be responsible for the design.
The lot is currently undeveloped, and being used as a parking area. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

Please pardon me for using your space: Not dangerous for development, because a three-story is on decree.
Mr. Rosenblatt/ Wasserman/ Finklestien whatever your name is…… you could care less cause at the end of the day you call whoever your contact is at City Hall or reach out to whatever corrupted councilman or councilwoman to get the ball rolling. buy & develop the site and take your coins back to wherever you dwell. Crown heights, Williamsburg and the rest of tax payers who WORK for a living have to pay the price for your never ending greed.
Hello homeless voucher mill.
The last thing this area needs is another shelter
There is already a shelter in close proximity
We will not allow another shelter in this area.
I suspect that In order to avoid the public outcry and scrutiny they are hiding under the guise of a hotel. This is being built to get money from the city by providing housing for individuals in the shelter system. 85 rooms for Tourism in east Flatbush? I think not.
City Hall could care less about jamming these shelters In neighborhoods that don’t want them. You already have day laborers who are all over the corner on Kings Highway and Foster….now there for the most part will be a homeless shelter across the street from that. There are homeowners in close proximity to that disaster going up. I already see It coming down the pipe…. Burglaries, cars being broken into and no increased police presence.
