Permits have been filed for 17-story mixed-use building at 128 Beach 9th Street, a beachfront property in Far Rockaway, Queens. The site is six bus stops away from the Far Rockaway train station, serviced by the LIRR, and the Far Rockaway subway station, end of the line for the A trains. Red Group Management, based in the same neighborhood, will be responsible for the development.
The 156-foot tall structure will yield 80,720 square feet, with 73,400 square feet dedicated to residential use, and 4,800 square feet for community facility use. 60 units will be created, averaging 1,220 square feet apiece, indicating condominiums. Parking will be included on site for thirty bicycles and 14 vehicles. Apartments from the fourth floor up will have private balconies.
John Schimenti P.C. Architects is listed as responsible for the design.
Demolition permits have not been filed yet for the existing single-story structure. The estimated completion date has not been announced.
