Permits have been filed for an 11-story commercial building at 2554 East 16th Street in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. Located between Avenue Z and Avenue Y, the lot is a short walk to the Sheepshead Bay subway station, serviced by the B and Q trains.

The proposed 122-foot-tall development will yield 36,388 square feet designated for commercial space. Components include retail on the ground level and eating and drinking facilities on the rooftop. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar, two loading berths, and 190 enclosed parking spaces.

Alix Michel of Citiscape Consulting is listed as the architect of record. The company is also acting as the owner’s representative.

Demolition permits have not been filed yet for the parking lot on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. That is an insane amount of parking and should be illegal, especially next to a subway station. And with Citiscape, you can guarantee the design will be cheap garbage.

  2. What about people who use cars to go shopping. This area has lots of businesses.
