The affordable housing lottery has launched for 1946 Ocean Avenue, a seven-story mixed-use building in Midwood, Brooklyn. Designed by Studio Gallos and developed by Red Group Management, the structure yields 46 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 15 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $85,715 to $218,010.
Residences come name-brand kitchen appliances, washers and dryers, and balconies. Amenities include parking, bike lockers, gym, recreation room, storage, and an elevator. Tenants are responsible for electricity, including stove, hot water, and heat.
At 130 percent of the AMI, there are two one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,500 for incomes ranging from $85,715 to $181,740, and 13 two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,750 for incomes ranging from $94,286 to $218,010.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than June 13, 2024.
