Full demolition permits have been filed for three buildings, a four-story and two five-story structures at 1209-1213 First Avenue in Lenox Hill, Manhattan. The mixed commercial and residential buildings are part of an assembled 13,000-square-foot lot, owned by Kamran Hakim under the 1205-1215 First Avenue Annex, with a total of 138 residential units and 15 commercial units. It is unclear what plans are in store, as no new construction permits have been filed yet. Peter Tauberer, PE is listed as the applicant of record for all three permits.

Located between East 65th Street and East 66th Street on the Upper East Side, the sites are two avenues away from the Lexington Avenue-63 Street subway station, serviced by the F and Q trains. Five blocks to the north is the 68th Street-Hunter College subway station, serviced by the 6 train.

  1. ” Lenox Hill Manhattan” really?
Also First Ave is to far east to be considered part of it.

I just hope the new developer will make provisions for off-street parking.

  3. The community facility named the “Lenox Hill Heighborhood House” is located on 70th street between 1st and 2nd, so it’s ok to call this location Lenox Hill.
Kamrin Hakim is not a developer but a long view assembler. This assemblage is currently worth minimum $150 million. There was a small fire in one of the vacant buildings this past summer. So he will knock down three of the five buildings, costing him now less than $2 million. The other two buildings on the corner have a few rent controllers left that are holding out for more than a million $ each. This tear down is just a chess move to get them to realize he might sell the new 3 building vacant lot to a Barnett.

  4. Hello….How do I apply
