Below-grade work is underway at 43-14 Queens Street, the site of a 19-story residential building in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Rockrose Development, the structure will yield just over 300 rental apartments and approximately 4,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. 27-34 Jackson GC, LLC is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Queens Street and Jackson Avenue.
Recent photos show excavators and piling machines at work, with the latter in the process of hammering down the start of the foundations. A truck was also seen delivering concrete through the sidewalk fencing. Large fragments of broken concrete from the excavation remain on site, but should be removed soon.
An axonometric preliminary rendering shows the overall building massing for 43-14 Queens Street. The design features a series of interlocking rectangular volumes with several setbacks across multiple floors, all of which appear to be topped with outdoor terrace space. An extension at the highest point will likely serve to hide the mechanical equipment.
The site is surrounded by a number of other residential projects lining Jackson Avenue and Long Island City as a whole, a neighborhood that has dramatically transformed over the past decade. 43-14 Queens Street may not be as tall as many of its newly built neighbors, but will still contribute nicely to the ever-growing density of the borough. The nearest subways are the E, M, and R trains at the Queens Plaza station to the northeast and the 7, N, and W trains at the Queensboro Plaza subway stop to the north.
43-14 Queens Street is anticipated to be finished in spring 2025.

Cool. Finally a new building in LIC!
LOL… Too funny!
So funny I remember DeBlasio and Cuomo wanting to give Amazon billions in tax breaks to build in LI City.
Lol just let the free market work.
True, but it would be nice if there were 25,000 high paying jobs within walking distance of these towers, rather than the thousands of new commutors this will add to the system in 5 years.
Able to find the way on the process, before progress rise from this excavation. Behind fencing it shows correct time to amount of dirt, and knowing where it is for getting design that developer wanted: Thanks to Michael Young.
Hey YIMBY, why are we only seeing content from Long Island City? …this is getting boring!
This is what they always do. They’ll feature another neighborhood soon.
Hey Stanley! Watch your foul mouth!!!
YIMBY usually devotes one week to showcase 1-2 neighborhoods. LIC definitely needed an update since spring, so this weekly update was much needed…your arrogant and entitled attitude meanwhile is not so much needed so shut up
Wow…in my 9 years as a subscriber to New York Yimby, I’ve never seen such a useless and spiteful comment like this. There are NIMBYs that like to talk trash, then there’s a comment like this that sounds so heartless. You Sir are on the same level as Kanye West and his anti-Semitic remarks
SLCE+Rockrose = low expectations
