In northern Greenpoint, three mid-rise affordable residential buildings are going up, with 21 Commercial Street, a six-story, 93-unit residential building, the first to top out. In May, foundation work was underway at 33 Eagle Street, where a seven-story, 98-unit building is planned, and now construction is above street level, according to Brownstoner. Lastly, a rendering has arrived on-site at 5 Blue Slip, where a six-story, 103-unit building is expected. Construction has yet to begin, but completion is slated for June 2017.
A few thousand square feet of retail space will span the ground floor of each building. Greenpoint Landing Associates and L+M Development are developing, while Handel Architects is designing.
