Full demolition permits have been filed for 114 East 14th Street, the former retail space of P.C. Richard & Sons, also known as 124 East 14th Street. The appliance shop closed their two-story, 20,000-square-foot location last winter. In November of 2018, we reported the city’s Economic Development Corp. has been soliciting proposals to redevelop the site into new office space for up and coming business tenants in creative and tech industries in the neighborhood, and had since filed new construction permits for a 22-floor commercial building.

Designed by JCJ Architecture, a new housing development will soon take shape in Manhattan’s East Village. Located on an interior lot at 270 East 2nd Street, the property was commissioned by Barrier Free Living, a New York-based non-profit that provides temporary and permanent housing for adults with significant physical disabilities. The new development will will provide both housing and support services for survivors of domestic violence with disabilities.

Since 2015, the city’s Economic Development Corp. has been soliciting proposals to redevelop the prime city-owned site, particularly those that include new office space for up and coming business tenants in creative and tech industries in the neighborhood.
