While Manhattan’s construction boom is now resulting in towers crossing the 1,000-foot mark on what seems to be a monthly basis, the first near-supertall across the Hudson is also making rapid progress. 99 Hudson Street has officially crossed the halfway point to its final height of 900 feet. Once complete, the building will become the tallest skyscraper in both Jersey City, and all of New Jersey. Even at under 500′, the tower is already making an impact on the skyline, as seen from Lower Manhattan and the surrounding real estate fronting New York Harbor.
Permits have been filed for a twelve-story mixed-use building at 1661 Westchester Avenue, in the Soundview neighborhood of The Bronx. The site is two blocks away from the Morrison Avenue-Soundview subway station, serviced by the 6 trains. Not-for-profit Phipps Houses will be responsible for the development. Their mission has been to provide children, youth, and families that live in low-income neighborhoods with rental housing accompanied by support to help tenants thrive through comprehensive education and career programs, as well as facilitating access to community services.
This Tuesday marked the groundbreaking ceremony for the horizontal expansion of a three-story health center at 6200 Beach Channel Drive in Arverne, Far Rockaway, Queens. The development is projected to double the capacity of the existing space, providing more medical resources to the growing population. The added space will allow for expanded capacity to bring essential health service to the neighborhood designated as medically underserved according to federal guidelines. Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center will be responsible for the development.
Until recently, Prospect Lefferts Gardens was mostly overlooked by developers busy constructing high-rise, high-value residential towers in other sought-after Brooklyn neighborhoods. Permits filed at 319 Lenox Road, however, are the latest in a slew of new mid to high-rise developments taking shape in the landmarked, historic district.

The site is seven blocks away from the Church Avenue subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Eleven blocks away is the Church Avenue station serviced by the B and Q trains.
