Permits have been filed for two 12-story buildings at 212 and 224 West 124th Street in Harlem, Manhattan. The site is in the heart of Harlem, near Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard, and three blocks from the 125th Street subway station with the A, B, C, and D trains. Moses Strulowtiz of the CS Real Estate Group is behind the applications.
Back in January of 2016, YIMBY reported on new building applications for a through block site spanning from 305 West 128th Street to 304 West 129th Street, in West Harlem, between Frederick Douglass Boulevard and St. Nicholas Avenue. A rough on-site image appeared two months later, and now we have the full renderings for the project, which is being designed by Kutnicki Bernstein Architects.
With Harlem’s 125th Street seeing a proliferation of new developments in recent years, it should come as no surprise that twenty blocks to the north, the 145th Street Corridor is also growing once again. Building applications have been filed for an eight-story building at 210 West 145th Street, between Frederick Douglass Boulevard and Adam Clayton Powell Jr Boulevard, on a lot that is currently vacant.
A 15-story residential building is slated to rise over 411 West 120th Street in Morningside Heights. Developers filed plans Friday for a 142-foot-tall, 57-unit project there.
Harlem is no longer known for abandoned buildings and neglected blocks. Small developments are filling in the vacant lots that once pockmarked the neighborhood, and today we have a look at one coming to 3 West 128th Street, between Fifth Avenue and Malcolm X Boulevard.
