The prevalence of sustainable Passive House structures is slowly growing in the United States, New York City included, which today counts more than 70 structures under the European-borne designation. In an announcement from design-build, general contractor firm UA Builders Group, 746 East 214th Street will become the latest addition to the group, making its debut in 2019. Located in the north-central blocks of The Bronx’s Williamsbridge, the property is immediately adjacent to the 2/5 Gun Hill Road Subway station.

New developments both big and small are rising across The Bronx, and today, we have a reveal for a four-story building coming to 770 East 214th Street, in the borough’s Williamsbridge neighborhood. YIMBY first reported on the site back in June of 2014, when applications were initially filed with the DOB.  The structure will total 8,030 square feet, and will be divided between ten rental apartments. UA Builders Group is the site’s developer, Badaly Architects PLLC is the architect of record, and completion is likely within the next year.

Four-Story, Six-Unit Residential Building Planned at 3839 Bronxwood Avenue, Williamsbridge

A Yonkers, N.Y.-based property owner has filed applications for a four-story, six-unit residential project at 3839 Bronxwood Avenue, located between East 220th and 221st streets in the Williamsbridge section of the East Bronx. The new building will measure 5,666 square feet and its residential units should average 900 square feet apiece. There will be a single apartment on each of the ground and second floors, followed by two apartments across the third through fourth floors. Gino O. Longo’s College Point-based firm is the architect of record. The 3,052-square-foot lot is occupied by a two-story building. Demolition permits were filed last July.

Three Two-Story, Two-Family Buildings Coming to 747 East 215th Street, Williamsbridge

Floral Park, N.Y.-based Metropolitan Homes has filed applications for two two-story, two-family buildings at 745-747 East 215th Street, in the East Bronx’s Williamsbridge section. The buildings will measure 3,825 square feet and 4,388 square feet, respectively. The new structures would be built on either side of an existing, although dilapidated, two-story, two-family townhouse, which will receive its own renovations. Across all three buildings, the residential units should average 1,342 square feet apiece. Shahriar Afshari’s Roslyn, N.Y.-based firm is the applicant of record. The lots on either side of the existing townhouse are vacant.
