The new school at 10 East 15th Street is going vertical rather quickly, with work already progressing to the third floor. Since the last update—when the only sign anything was happening was a new rendering—the building’s steel has gone up very fast, and it will eventually reach eight stories in height.
10 East 15th saw a fair deal of controversy before construction began, as neighborhood NIMBYs were thoroughly outraged at the idea of building a new school in their vicinity, but arguments against the project were obviously unsuccessful. Occupancy is slated for the fall of 2015.
