Kingsbridge Armory [Crain’s New York]: The city has signed a 99-year lease for the planned Kingsbridge National Ice Center, giving the developer the ability to begin converting the existing Kingsbridge Armory — in Fordham Manor — into a “cavernous 750,000 square-foot building that is set to house nine ice skating rinks and arena.” The project is estimated to cost $350 million.
Monarch at Shipyards [The Jersey Journal]: Shipyard Associates will present their plans “to build two 11-story luxury residential towers” at the vacant pier on the northeastern corner of Sinatra Dive and 15th Street, in Hoboken; the project has been dubbed Monarch at Shipyards.
707 Barretto Street [DNAinfo New York]: Hometown Security Laboratories is heading a vision to redevelop the abandoned six-story Spofford juvenile detention center at 707 Barretto Street, in Hunts Point; the public may submit designs for consideration, and completion is envisioned by 2030.
8 Vanderbilt Avenue [Brownstoner]: A 12-story and 98-unit residential building — located at 8 Vanderbilt Avenue, in northern Fort Greene — has reached the sixth floor; the building is a part of the full-block Navy Green residential development, set to total 400,000 square feet.
St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church [Wall Street Journal]: Santiago Calatrava has released new renderings of the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church currently being built within Liberty Park, south of Liberty Street, in the Financial District; both Liberty Park and the religious structure “should be finished in 2016 or early 2017.”
