16-16 Whitestone Expressway [Queens Courier]: The International Union of Operating Engineers is currently building a six-story, 60,000 square-foot office building at 16-16 Whitestone Expressway, in western Whitestone. The owner plans to occupy 30,000 square feet, and completion “is expected by [the] summer.”
325 St. Mark’s Place [SILive.com]: International investors have acquired the 37,000 square-foot vacant L-shaped lot at 315-325 St. Mark’s Place, in St. George, for $9.5 million. A “high-end residential building [of] more than 15 stories” is planned, and “between 140 to 180 units” are predicted.
345 Carroll Street [Pardon Me For Asking]: Sterling Equities has begun foundation work for a planned five-story, 32-unit residential building at 345 Carroll Street, in Gowanus. Pile driving is currently underway, and completion is expected in Winter 2015.
187 7th Avenue [New York Times]: Sugar Hill Capital Partners is currently renovating the dilapidated five-story building at 187 7th Avenue, in Park Slope, to accommodate four residential units and retail space. Dubbed 2ND7TH, the building “will be completed in the fall.”
100 West 125th Street [Harlem+Bespoke]: Retaining walls and the foundation are being poured for Wharton Properties’ six-story and 161,000 square-foot commercial/retail building at 100 West 125th Street, in Harlem. A number of tenants have already signed on, and completion is expected by 2016.
50 Bowery [Bowery Boogie]: Foundation work is proceeding on Joie de Vivre’s 22-story, 229-key hotel at 50-52 Bowery, in Chinatown. Peter Poon is designing, and completion is expected in 2016.
