The administration of Mayor Bill de Blasio is planning to transform multiple industrial buildings at Bush Terminal, located on First Avenue between 41st and 43rd streets in Sunset Park, into a multi-building manufacturing and film production hub, called Made In New York. Renderings of the project have been revealed on Curbed NY.

Plans indicate the existing four-story structure at 1 43rd Street and the five-story building at 13 42nd Street will both receive extensive renovations and modernization. A single-story vertical expansion also appears in store for 13 42nd Street. Total manufacturing space between these two buildings will measure 200,000 square feet.

A single-story, 100,000-square-foot film and television production complex is also planned at 4290 First Avenue. A café is expected to occupy roughly 7,500 square feet of space in one of the buildings. Completion is expected in 2020.
