Permits have been filed for the demolition of four small structures along Madison Avenue, between East 88th and 89th Street on the Upper East Side. Both 1228 and 1230 were single-story commercial buildings. 1232 and 1234 were four-story commercial and residential buildings. Real Estate Equities Corporation is responsible for the demolition.
The firm responded to a request for comment, saying they are considering different options at the moment, and haven’t made any firm decisions. Considering the neighborhood, it isn’t a stretch of the imagination to speculate a condo-tower with retail on ground floor.
An architecture firm has not yet been attached to the project.

Please pardon me for using your space: I want to know what people think about this report, I agree with you.
Yes condos for sure. 4 structures purchased that’s a big win
what will be the height of the construction, how many stories ?
In Carnegie Hill, they had better make it ascetically pleasing. Hopefully, the residents of the area will have some input on this. That area already has that ugly monstrosity brick high rise tower across the street.
511 e. 86rh part on York is already MANY stories higher than in the rendering. Had they filed new permits. How many stories will the York extension really have??
