Permits have been filed for a six-story medical facility at 505 West 168th Street, in Washington Heights, Manhattan. The site is two blocks away from the 168th Street Subway Station, serviced by the 1, A, and C trains. Marino Torres MD is listed as the owner. Mr. Torres MD is a board certified pediatrics professional working at New York Presbyterian. NYP owns a multi-block hospital structure right next to the subway station. The permit does not specify a connection with the hospital, but it seems inevitable.

The 60-foot tall structure will yield 13,860 square feet of space, with 9,980 square feet dedicated to community facility use. A pediatric center will be located in the cellar, along with a mechanical room and storage area. Medical offices will occupy the six floors above ground.

Insite Design Studio will be responsible for the architecture.

The site witnessed a similar proposal in 2014, with Torres again listed as the owner. A different firm was to design what would have been a seven-story building with five residential apartments, and 4,800 square feet of medical space.

Demolition permits have been filed, and the estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. Please pardon me for using your space: Bring the best with a six-story.
