Permits have been filed for a 12-story residential development at 29 Featherbed Lane, in Morris Heights, The Bronx. The lot is on the interior of Featherbed Lane, between Jerome Avenue and Macombs Road. Located one block away is the Mt. Eden Avenue subway station, serviced by 4 train. Arjan Gjushi is responsible for the new development applications.

Back in June of 2017, Gjushi filed new construction permits for a six-story apartment building with 94 units. The newly filed application is for double the height with a 24% increase in units.

The proposed concrete building will be 119 feet tall, with a total scope of 128,774 square feet. With 115,685 square feet allotted to residential space, the units will most likely be condos, averaging 964 square feet apiece. Along with a basement and cellar, 29 Featherbed Lane will have nine enclosed parking spaces and a front yard 36 feet long.

Mohammad Badaly of Badaly Arcitect PLLC, will be responsible for the design. Demolition permits are likely not needed for the site, and an estimated completion date has not been announced.

Gjushi owns several other residential buildings in The Bronx.

  1. I’m glad they are going back to complete the job with new plans.

  2. Please pardon me for using your space: Sorry to take liberties with you, development interested me on words.

  3. Holy schist!

Too bad about the architect though. Badaly is bad.

  4. I always loved the name of the street. Then there was Boscobel Road, renamed after World War One as the Major Edward L. Grant Highway, after a soldier no one remember now.

  5. The increase percentage from 94 to 160 hell not being “24%”, maybe correct number of apartment is 116. Then 24% increase in number of apartments will be correct.

  6. It is pretty evident that Badaly is just the Bronx’s version of Scott Schnall and Robert Scarano.
