Fresh Renderings Reveal Mineola Village Green in Mineola, Long Island

Rendering of Mineola Village Green (Base3D)

Back in 2015, plans were approved to begin construction on a number of high-end residential developments in the Downtown center of Mineola, Long Island in an effort to bolster and revitalize the growing community. That initiative includes construction of Mineola Village Green at 199 Second Avenue, a 266-unit residential project designed by local architects Stephen B. Jacobs Group for Lalezarian Properties. Today, YIMBY has the first look at renderings depicting the ongoing development.

Mineola Village Green is comprised of a U-shaped building that encircles a landscaped central plaza. A central building is positioned at the far side of the plaza which is flanked by two symmetrical wings. Rooftop amenities include multiple terraces atop each building, an outdoor pool, and a fitness center.

A double height lobby and retail areas will occupy the building’s ground level. Below, residents will have access to three-levels of underground parking.

No formal completion date has been announced, but with construction now underway, a 2020 or 2021 estimate would not be unreasonable.

  1. Please pardon me for using your space: Affluent light very beautiful, and affable to people for seeing.

Are all the units rented or bought already?

  3. Will the chessboard be functional?

  4. This is the sort of high-density, transit-adjacent development that really helps ease the housing shortage.

It always surprises me when I travel the LIRR and see all the older suburbs that don’t take better advantage of their transit stop. There must be lots of people willing to pay just a little less for a nice apartment with good access to NYC jobs. This is where they should live.

  5. Out of all towns on Long Island I believe the south shore is the most deserving of high density development like this because of the towns layouts and direct transit to Manhattan. The city of Freeport is already a high density town with a lot of underused land and empty lots.

  6. There’s almost no greenery in the Village Green. Mineola is getting to look more and more like Forest Hills.

  7. Good morning. Are these to be rental units, coops, or condominiums?

  8. When will the units be available? Are you accepting applications now?

I work at a nearby university; so the location would be ideal!

    Thank you for your feedback.

I am very interested in applying for one of these apartments. I love the location. How can i apply, and how much is the rent for these apartments?

  10. Something interesting to consider. Mineola has been building a bunch of new apartment buildings lately. I’ve been watching them go up since I live in the area. This one and One Third street were built using concrete frames and non-combustible materials, whereas the new Modera Metro and The Allure were built using lightweight timber construction. Once the facade is finished, you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between any of them, but the structural differences and how the buildings could potentially behave in a fire are very different. The Village Green btw is gorgeous, it looks like a w00 year old factory building that was renovated into condos, but it’s all brand new.
