The affordable housing lottery is now open for BPHN Senior Residences at 1488 New York Avenue, a seven-story mixed-use development in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. Designed by Heritage Architecture and developed by Evangelical Crusade Christian Church and BEL Community Development, the 65,335-square-foot building will yield a total 89 units. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 58 studio apartments for senior residents at 50 percent of the area median income, ranging in eligible income from $0 to $45,500.

Amenities include an outdoor terrace, shared laundry room, a recreation room, a community center, and a security guard. The community center will be operated by Evangelical Crusade Christian Church and comprise medical services and an adult daycare. Residences will have air conditioning, high-speed internet, and energy-efficient appliances.

At 50 percent of the AMI, there are 58 affordable studios with a $0 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $0 to $45,500. Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than January 28, 2021.
