  1. ‘Upper West Sid’ would make a great rock band name…

  2. Has it started construction yet?

  3. ODA loves a cantilever.

  4. Dreadful. I don’t know who shares more of the blame, the architect or the city?

  5. “T I M B E R “! 😨

Yes–It’s been started. This street view is a big photoshop fail, showing the base of the building sitting in the middle of Broadway. Pretty sure the Broadway side will be more or less even with the Equinox building it cantilevers over. I live next door and cannot wait until this construction is over. It has been a nightmare.

  7. What an abrasive and aggressive design. The interiors are nice, nothing special, but the design is hideous.

  8. This building design is an abomination. It should not be approved. In fact, it should be illegal for any building to have any floor plates that exceed the square footage of the ground level.

  9. The implications of this architecture is the elephant in the room, imo.. it Disrupts high-value/low density & height neighborhoods.. in NYC + any other high price urban area..

Air rights exist for good reason, but I wonder how they now apply,. given these architectural advances..?
