NYCHA Announces Majors Renovations for Frederick E. Samuel Apartments at 141 West 142nd Street in Harlem

NYCHA has revealed its plans to renovate Frederick E. Samuel Apartments, a 42-building affordable housing portfolio in Harlem. The Frederick Samuel Apartments stretch from West 139th Street to West 147th Street, between Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard and Lenox Avenue. The portfolio includes 664 units and houses 1,379 residents, some of whom reside in buildings more than 100 years old.

Designed by Archimaera Architecture and developed by Riverside Developers, the structure yields 86 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 59 units for residents at 70 to 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $50,709 to $167,570.

Excavation Progresses for 262 Fifth Avenue Residential Supertall in NoMad, Manhattan

Excavation is continuing at 262 Fifth Avenue, the site of a proposed 1,043-foot residential supertall in NoMad and number eight on our year-end construction countdown. Designed by Russian-based firm Meganom with SLCE Architects as the executive architect and developed by Boris Kuzinez of Five Points Development under the Five Points 262 Project, LLC, the 60-story tower will yield 139,168 square feet of residential space divided into 41 residential units and 10,850 square feet of retail space on the first two floors. CM & Associates Construction Management, LLC is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and West 29th Street.
