Construction is nearing topping out on 601 Baltic Street, a ten-story residential building in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Designed by Orlando Diaz of Form4 Design Studio PLLC and developed by Yiannes Einhorn of Einhorn Development Group, the 30,018-square-foot building will yield 25 units. Built By Grid LLC is the general contractor and King Contracting Group in charge of the brick and CMU work for the property, which is located at the corner of Baltic Street and Fourth Avenue.
Recent photos show sections of the building covered in black netting and metal scaffolding as work nears the 100-foot-tall pinnacle. Only a few floors remained to be constructed at the time of our visit.
A black and white rendering is posted on the construction board. Though it is difficult to ascertain envelope details, it provides insight into the massing, a conventional volume with an orderly window grid and two roof decks surrounding a raised central extension.
601 Baltic Street will feature 22,659 square feet of residential area and 1,654 square feet of ground-floor space. The homes are expected to be condominiums with an average scope of 906 square feet. The closest subways are the 2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, N, Q, R, and W trains at the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center Station, which is five blocks to the north by the intersection of Flatbush and Fourth Avenues.
Below is a photo that shows the original site conditions and former structure.
A completion date for 601 Baltic Street is stated on site for spring 2023.

It’s fine, but nothing else.
All I know is I can put a hotel or some houses on this street for cheap cheap cheap…
Former building actually had a (cast iron?) cornice! Wonder if they salvaged it…….
Jesus it’s nothing but a bunch of cheap cinder blocks held together with nothing.
The former building was so much better but nothing stops GREEDY developers
what a piece of crap
