The affordable housing lottery has launched for The Dime, a rental building above the historic Dime Savings Bank at 275 South 5th Street in South Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by Fogarty Finger Architects and developed by Charney Companies and Tavros Holdings, the structure yields 177 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 17 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $72,378 to $156,130.

Amenities include a community garden, a yoga studio, a cooking area with grills, multiple dining tables, a manicured lawn, a lounge with ample seating, communal work spaces, a half basketball court, and a fitness center programmed by The Wright Fit. Residences come equipped with washers and dryers, dishwashers, air conditioning, and private terraces for select units. Tenants are responsible for electricity.

At 130 percent of the AMI, there are five studios with a monthly rent of $2,111 for incomes ranging from $72,378 to $138,840; and 12 one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,265 for incomes ranging from $77,658 to $156,130.

Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than June 3, 2022.

    THIS IS INCOME LINKED HOUSING
    This is only affordable to upper income people and not the low income people who live in this neighborhood.
    421A is a taxpayer subsidy to multi millionaire developers and will hopefully disappear as soon as June 15th.
    This is a joke to call this affordable!

    This is a joke affordable for the rich because no one else could afford this this is a disgrace no wonder there’s so many homeless people in NYC because these greedy investors are so thoughtless theyll do anything to make themselves richer while the poor have to work 2 or 3 jobs to put food on the table.
