New York City Mayor Eric Adams recently joined leaders from The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Center for Engineering and Precision Medicine to celebrate the grand opening of the Center for Engineering and Precision Medicine (CEPM) at 619 West 54th Street in Midtown, Manhattan.

Known as the Hudson Research Center, the building at 619 West 54th Street is owned by Silverstein Properties and designed by Perkins + Will. Today, the property houses 150,000 square feet of wet research labs, state-of-the-art facilities for a variety of research specialties, and private offices for each tenant. There is also an assortment of shared conference rooms and meeting spaces, open collaborative workspaces, a café, and a lounge.

The CEPM space includes 23,000 square feet of lab space on the building’s ninth floor and offers a mix of both wet lab and dry lab spaces, private office space, and open cubicles. Now complete, CEPM is among the first life science centers in New York City to integrate engineering and biomedical sciences with education, training, and research collaborations focused on improving human health.

“We are thrilled to open the doors to the Center for Engineering and Precision Medicine,” said Rensselaer president Martin A. Schmidt, Ph.D. “CEPM will transform the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, Alzheimer’s, infectious diseases, and more by advancing state-of-the-art technologies and focusing on a personalized approach. CEPM, the third of RPI’s New York City-based research centers, will also provide exceptional educational opportunities for the next generation of researchers, medical professionals, and life sciences entrepreneurs.”

I want to repeat on “provide exceptional educational opportunities for the next generation of researchers”, and focused on improving human health. Lab and work space is lofty that separately sectioned off, by clothing’s colors and I turn back to exterior view suitable for diagnosis: Thanks.

  2. Biomedical and life science research are so critical. Glad to see New York City becoming a center for Life Science research .

  3. Mount Sinai was able to flip this building fast.
