Seventh Street Development Group has closed on a $62.25 million construction loan to complete a new mixed-use building at 1730 Bedford Avenue in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Designed by Rise Architecture, the building will top out at seven stories and comprise about 162,000 square feet.

Lidl, a discount grocery chain based in Germany, will anchor the property with a new 33,000-square-foot store. There will also be a new Chipotle restaurant, 30,000 square feet of unspecified retail and commercial space, 57 rental apartments, and more than 200 parking spaces. The residential component will occupy about 39,000 square feet.

The main rendering shows the building with a tiered massing that steps back above the fifth floor. The setback and roof parapet are lined with railings, indicating the presence of terrace space. The building is shown enclosed with a glass curtain wall that will maximize the flow of natural light to the interiors.

Hey Antonio Reynoso, bringing more pollution and congestion to our borough’s streets is not good leadership. It’s time you bring our city into the 21st century.

  4. 200 parking spaces? When will this Robert Moses era nonsense end?

  5. The parking is obviously being driven by the grocery store. There about as easy to desire having parking as an Ikea.

  6. definitely affordable healthy supermarket needed in that neighborhood, how ever, that 57 units, are they market rate, high middle income units, or low income units, right down the block is prospect park, botanical gardens other good resources, lets see if these units are truly affordable
