The affordable housing lottery has launched for The MC, an 11-story residential building at 1100 Myrtle Avenue in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Shorewood Real Estate Group, the structure yields 233 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 70 units for residents at 80 to 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $57,258 to $218,010.
Residences come with oversized windows, European oak flooring, and stainless-steel kitchen appliances. Amenities include an attended lobby, a coworking library, outdoor work-from-home terrace, package room, garage with electric vehicle charging stations, bicycle storage, a media lounge, a billiard room, dog run and pet spa, a residents’ party room, and a fitness center. Tenants are responsible for electricity.
At 80 percent of the AMI, there is one studio with a monthly rent of $1,585 for incomes ranging from $57,258 to $99,440; 32 one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,692 for incomes ranging from $61,338 to $111,840; and five two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,018 for incomes ranging from $74,058 to $134,160.
At 130 percent of the AMI, there are seven studios with a monthly rent of $2,500 for incomes ranging from $72,000 to $124,150; 21 one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,900 for incomes ranging from $76,149 to $139,620; and four two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $3,800 for incomes ranging from $130,286 to $218,010.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than July 23, 2024.
