Permits have been filed to expand a three-story structure into a four-story residential building at 79 Maujer Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Located between Leonard Street and Lorimer Street, the lot is near the Metropolitan Avenue-Lorimer Street subway station, serviced by the L and G trains. Jacob Rubin is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 42-foot-tall development will yield 5,332 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have eight residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 666 square feet. The wood-based structure will also have a cellar and a 46-foot-long rear yard.

Nikolai Katz Architect is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the lot is vacant. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

What does the post mean when it says demolition not needed as the lot is vacant? There is a building there? Does it mean the new construction is all in the back of the building?
