131-01 39th Avenue [The Real Deal]: King’s USA Group has purchased the two-story and 100,000 square-foot building at 131-01 39th Avenue — in Downtown Flushing — for $54.6 million; plans have not been revealed, but “the site offers roughly 474,000 buildable square feet.”
Hallets Point [New York Times]: Durst Organization “paid well over $100 million for a 90% stake in” the Hallets Point project in Astoria, headed by Lincoln Equities, and set to bring “more than 2,000 apartment” units between seven buildings to the waterfront site; the project had been approved by the city last year.
38 West 18th Street [Curbed]: The Landmarks Preservation Commission has denied approval for a through-block 17- and 18-story residential and commercial development spanning 38-42 West 18th and 41-45 West 17th Streets, in eastern Chelsea; the lots come vacant, and Morris Adjmi is designing.
137 Attorney Street [Bowery Boogie]: Community Board 3 has received a proposal for a 16-unit residential building spanning the vacant lots of 137-139 Attorney Street, in the Lower East Side; similar plans were proposed years ago for a five-story and 14-unit project.
524 Myrtle Avenue [Fort Greene Focus]: Silverstone Property has purchased the single-story structures spanning 504-524 Myrtle Avenue — in Fort Greene — to make way for a mixed-use development; tenants are currently relocating ahead of impending demolition.
53 West 53rd Street [Curbed]: Demolition of the existing American Folk Art Museum low-rise structure at 53 West 53rd Street, in Midtown, is being reduced to scrapes ahead of Hines’s 82-story and 140-luxury unit residential tower being dubbed Torre Verre; excavation work for the tower’s foundation is imminent.
86-01 Broadway [Queens Chronicle]: The three-story and 30,000 square-foot library is currently receiving façade installation at 86-01 Broadway, in Elmhurst; the building is “scheduled to be completed next spring,” ad Marpillero Pollak is designing. Picture
