123 West 57th Street [Wall Street Journal]: Extell Development has set sights on a 191,000 square-foot hotel and church building — located at 123 West 57th Street, in Midtown — with the intent to “potentially redevelop the church’s property.” Documents specify “FXFOWLE Architects and Extell’s architectural team are working together to present a design concept.” Extell also owns 134 West 58th Street, which directly backs No 123. on 57th Street.
34 Meadowlands Parkway [The Jersey Journal]: The Meadowlands Commission has disapproved Hartz Mountain’s plans “to build a four-story, 65-unit apartment building” at the vacant lot of 34 Meadowlands Parkway, in Secaucus. The developer was seeking a variance to build above the overly restricting 35-foot height limit, and will now need to resubmit scaled-down plans.
625 Fulton Street [The Real Deal]: Forest City Ratner has completed demolition of an old six-story office building, and is “asking $185 million, or will find a development partner” for their development site at 625 Fulton Street, in Fort Greene. The lot has 600,000 square feet of air rights, and a residential tower is likely.
27-07 43rd Avenue [The Court Square Blog]: Foundation work has kicked-off at 27-07 43rd Avenue — in Long Island City — amid a recent change of plans calling for a hotel project of nine stories and 108 rooms. Prakash Patel is developing, and Michael Kang is listed as the new architect.
