Construction has topped out and façade installation is nearing completion on the 35-story, 220-unit mixed-use building under development at 323 Tenth Avenue, located between West 28th and 29th streets in West Chelsea. The picture of the structure is courtesy of NY Construction Photo. The latest building permits indicate the tower rises 385 feet to its roof, not including the bulkhead.
The building is joined by two nearly completed 13-story mixed-use structures at 507 West 28th Street. Across all three buildings, there will be 16,068 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The residential units should average 779 square feet apiece, indicative of rentals. Lalezarian Properties is the developer and Avinash K. Malhotra Architects is behind the architecture. Completion is expected later this year or in early 2017.

My brain is receiving both images, which is tower under development with facade installation.
I’m not going to get into how glassy this neighborhood is rapidly becoming–not because I hate glass, but because it’s all just such bland architecture.
Question for you YIMBY: any thoughts on why this building doesn’t also occupy the small lot to the north, on the corner of 29th and 10th? It’s an empty lot–any thoughts about what may sprout there?
Similarly, the lot on the south west corner of 28th and 10th where a three-story brick building was just torn down (you can see it in the rendering image just across from the park)–I think Related owns that site? They used the back half of it for their field office for the Zaha Hadid building rising just behind. Any word on what that might become?
