Triple Five Group will restart construction early next year on the long-stalled and horrendous-looking American Dream Meadowlands retail and entertainment project, located in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The 3-million-square-foot complex is scheduled to open in late 2018, the Record reported.

Renderings have also be revealed, at Jersey Digs, of the latest version of American Dream, expected to feature an 800-foot-long indoor ski hill, a 300-foot-tall Ferris Wheel, a Nickelodeon Universe-themed amusement park, and roughly 500 retailers. The complex is currently a little over 75 percent leased, Ridgewood Patch reported. GH+A Design Studios is responsible for the latest design. The complex, which last saw construction April, is currently partially complete.

Looking at the rendering and photo of the project made me speechless…er, I mean want to hold my breath.
I have passed that site so many times. Thought it was a racing car stadium or something. Glad it will finally open and be a affordable place to go.
‘Horrendous’ design, yes — but no more so than, say, Hudson Yards’?
Although not in this photo, will this mean that
WE the TAXPAYERS can stop paying for the many,many
cranes that have been a PERMANENT part of the
landscape??? If so, them build away!
This mall is a monument to Gov. Christy’s corrupt judgement. The taxpayers should not be on the hook for the Christy’s friends. If they want that ugly mall there then they should pay for it. I have not heard any taxpayer ask for this, yet somehow we are going to have to pay the bill. The low paying jobs that mall will create will not help NJ workers/taxpayers. One billion dollars in bonds would have been better spent improving our rail tunnels into NYC. Oh … right … Christy killed that plan. Christy and his corrupt buddies need to go!
