Astoria is increasingly playing host to massive new developments, but infill still predominates in the neighborhood, and new building applications have now been filed for 26-26 18th Street. Demolition permits for an existing two-story structure have not yet been filed, but architect Frank Petruso will be designing its replacement, which will rise four floors and 40 feet to its rooftop. The project will span just shy of 5,000 square feet, and be divided between seven units averaging about 700 square feet apiece, indicative of rentals. Salvatore Prainito is the site’s developer.
