Thanks to efforts led by Cushman & Wakefield , the 27-story Heron Tower in Midtown has now achieved LEED-Gold Status. The Heron Tower, at 70 East 55th Street between Park Avenue and Madison Avenue, was built in 1987, yielding 154,000 square feet of office space, and stands 314 feet tall.

The most important aspect of the project was installing a Building Management System, which helped schedule energy usage by time and day.

The project was implemented over a two-year period and consisted of replacing interior and perimeter AC units. An additional 200 will be installed later this year and next to complete the renovations.
