The Kent is a 30-story residential building at 200 East 95th Street under construction on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Progress is just inches from completion, and the structure is now settling into the surrounding neighborhood.
The attractive dark metal fins added along the base and crown and the dark red bricks contextually match with the area. The combo is certainly a step above the projects of a similar scale from earlier decades in the vicinity. Extell is responsible for the development.
The 392-foot tall building yields over 300,00 square feet within, including 13,000 square feet for ground-floor retail shops. The building will create 83 condominiums, along with 21 apartments that will let as affordable.
Beyer Blinder Belle is responsible or the design, with interiors by Alexandra Champalimaud.
Residents will benefit from a myriad of amenities, as is typical for Extell’s projects. These include a multi-screen screening room, children’s playroom, Finnish sauna, fitness center, heated swimming pool, two lounges, a courtyard, and a “Sound Lounge” designed by the legendary rocker Lenny Kravitz.
Describing the inspiration for the design, Kravitz said, “the Sound Lounge at The Kent was inspired by one of my personal recording studios. We wanted to create an inviting and inspiring multipurpose environment where the residents can play music together or practice their instruments.”
The new condominium building will be in competition with a few other developments nearby, including 180 East 88th Street, Citizen360, and 360 East 89th Street.

Any info on opening and affordable pricing for a two bedroom apt would be appreciated
We are CRAZY to allow these hideous buildings not only to be built but to allow the destruction of everything small and charming in this area. Sick, Sick, Sick.
