The reinforced concrete structure at 111 Varick Street has topped out in Hudson Square. The 27-story residential project is located at the northern corner of Varick Street and Broome Street, and is designed by S9 Architecture and developed by Madigan Development. The building will contain 100 affordable and market-rate units, as well as ground-floor retail space. CM & Associates is in charge of the construction.

It is unclear when the installation of the curtain wall will commence. The façade will be composed of floor-to-ceiling windows with a perimeter of dark-colored prefabricated panels that are designed with geometrically-shaped steel frames. This will create a lively and dynamic effect, and a striking contrast with the building’s more customary, glass-dominated neighbor to its west. All elevations will be treated with the same architectural gesture and curtain wall system.

The roof parapet of 111 Varick Street aligns with the east of the adjacent property and maintains an equal height. Though the project does not reach skyscraper status, its playful façade will still make it an eye-catching addition to the Hudson Square neighborhood.
Amenities will include a 15-car parking garage, a roof terrace for all residents, bicycle storage, a lounge, and a laundry room. The closest subway is the Spring Street station, serviced by the C and E trains.
A completion date of fall 2020 is posted on the construction fence.

From my eyes; shape very sharp, move suddenly from side to side on the structure. Because I love it, and make important changes on curtain wall as a greeting as its lighting at night. Make it more efficient until facade finish onto major design. (Thanks to Tectonic)
