Permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use building at 491 Herkimer Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Located between Albany Avenue and Troy Avenue, the interior lot is two blocks east of the Kingston-Throop Avenues subway station, serviced by the A and C trains. Federation of Organizations for the New York State Mentally Disabled is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 81-foot-tall development will yield 110,603 square feet, with 75,408 square feet designated for residential space and 5,948 square feet for community facility space. The building will have 121 affordable independent residences for seniors with an average unit scope of 623 square feet and a healthcare facility on the ground floor. The masonry-based structure will also have a cellar, a 30-foot-long rear yard, and 90 enclosed parking spaces.

Demolition permits have not been filed yet. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
