Permits have been filed for a vertical and horizontal expansion of a four-story residential building at 1155 Bedford Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Located between Putnam Avenue and Madison Street, the lot is near the Franklin Avenue subway station, serviced by the A and C trains. Leslie Xia is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 50-foot-tall development will yield 7,481 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have eight residences, most likely condos based on the average unit scope of 938 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar and a 30-foot-long rear yard.
ARC Architecture + Design Studio is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the project calls for an expansion. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

The building next door has been under construction for 6 years. The “vertical enlargement” on the corner of Madison butchered a totally charming existing building. Let’s hope for a better outcome here.
The whole corner is a disaster. Hoping for some work to start or continue to help remedy the situation soon.
