The affordable housing lottery has launched for 514 Herkimer Street, an eight-story residential building in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Designed by ARC Architecture + Design Studio and developed by Oren Shalev under the 514 Herkimer LLC, the structure yields 15 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are five units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $82,286 to $165,230.
Units come with washers and dryers, intercoms, name-brand kitchen appliances and condo-style finishes, smart controls for heating and cooling, hardwood floors, and balconies. Amenities include bike storage, assigned parking spaces, a rooftop terrace, a recycling center, and a virtual doorman. Tenants are responsible for electricity.
At 130 percent of the AMI, there are five one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,400 for incomes ranging from $82,286 to $165,230.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than August 30, 2023.
