The affordable housing lottery has launched for Federation Nameoke Apartments, a nine-story residential building at 20-50 Nameoke Avenue in Far Rockaway, Queens. Designed by Urban Architectural Initiatives and developed by Federation Nameoke Housing Development, the structure yields 117 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 45 units for residents at 60 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $35,040 to $91,500.
Amenities include a shared laundry room, outdoor areas, a recreation room, elevator, security cameras, and a security guard. Apartments feature vinyl floors, white appliances, and microwave. The building has a no-pet policy except for service animals and emotional supportive animals. Tenants are responsible for electricity.
At 60 percent of the AMI, there are five studios with a monthly rent of $947 for incomes ranging from $0 to $35,418; 30 one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,193 for incomes ranging from $44,263 to $76,260; and ten two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,421 for incomes ranging from $53,143 to $91,500.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than October 26, 2023.
